Mid Suffolk Retail Grants

Town Centre Support to Brighten Suffolk High Streets

Independent businesses across several Suffolk towns are being offered the chance to apply for grants to improve their shopfronts and help revitalise local high streets.

Grants start from £500 and go up to £10,000, with exceptional projects eligible for up to £20,000. The funding is aimed at creating more vibrant, welcoming town centres by supporting businesses in making improvements to their premises.

The grants can cover a wide range of upgrades, including:

  • New signage or rebranding

  • External lighting, cladding, or canopies

  • Accessibility improvements

  • New windows or doors

  • Restoring traditional features

  • Internal shutters to replace outdated external ones

Businesses will need to contribute at least 40% of the total project cost, with the grant covering up to 60%.

To be eligible, businesses must be based in one of the following towns:
Eye, Debenham, Stowupland, Elmswell, Woolpit, Thurston, Needham Market, Great Blakenham, Claydon, or Stowmarket. Specific criteria apply.

The initiative is part of a wider effort to support local trade and enhance the look and feel of town centres across Mid Suffolk.
