The online course is being delivered by Visit West Norfolk in two slightly different versions, with one version tailored towards those under 24 years of age, such as college leavers and those entering our local tourism and hospitality industry for the first time. Business owners and venue managers within the local tourism industry may wish to signpost their staff to this course.
The other version of the online course is more focused on those over the age of 24, which could include older volunteers, new business owners, retirees and those coming from out of the area to live in west Norfolk for the first time.
Much of the new course material centres on the same core content from the classic face-to-face version of the course, though with significantly updated information on the latest tourism trends and local investment projects. There are lots of new video clips of the course presenter testing young people’s local knowledge – sometimes with entertaining results!
With the aim to help enable local people of all ages in becoming enthusiastic Ambassadors for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, the course aims to inspire those who will go on to actively promote a positive, vibrant image of the Borough, helping to attract visitors and create a thriving economy. Beyond those aims, Visit West Norfolk hopes that everyone who completes the course becomes a proud West Norfolk Tourism Ambassador, spreads the word about the fantastic quality of life local people enjoy and all the great things about living and working in west Norfolk, and be confident when talking about current local developments – not only in King’s Lynn but throughout the borough.
