Supervisor Training

A hands‑on supervisor training workshop designed to build confidence, improve performance and strengthen people management skills.

The role of the line manager or a supervisor is arguably one of the most important in any business. Achieving high levels of commitment and motivation from staff as well as meeting the needs of your customers and your boss at the same time is crucial if the business is to achieve success.

This workshop is ideal for new and existing line managers and supervisors wishing to develop or refresh their leadership and management skills.

Modules include:

Management style–what works best for you and the company
Getting the best from your team
Successful delegation
Time management
Problem-solving and decision making
Effective communication
Dealing with challenging behaviour
Managing team meetings

During this workshop you will discover:

An understanding of your role as a manager/supervisor
The differences and similarities between leadership and management
Managing friends in the workplace and your relationship with your team
How to lead your team

This one-day workshop is suitable for anyone who is new to a management role and is looking for better ways of getting the best from their team. It is highly participative with a mixture of discussion, exercises and activities. Although all modules will be covered, the content will be flexible to meet the needs of those attending on the day.

Pre-course work

Completing a brief pre-course questionnaire and arriving with an open mind, ready to learn.

Meet the Trainer

Kate Wilde is a business adviser and Managing Director of Engage with Business Ltd, specialising in leadership and management development for small business owners. She helps founders step into their role as leaders, building confidence, strengthening decision making and shaping practical systems that make businesses run more smoothly. Kate’s approach is direct, supportive and grounded in real world experience, giving clients the tools they need to lead with clarity and purpose.

Eligibility

These small group workshops are funded by The Department of Business and Trade and are open to any business, freelancer, or charity based in Norfolk or Suffolk, UK.
