DESCRIPTION:This workshop introduces owners of small businesses and managers to the basic skills needed to effectively manage and gain the best from their employees including individual performance\, communication and delegation. \nThe workshop provides an understanding of how individual employee needs relate to the business. It provides tools to help manage individuals and encourages a more proactive and innovative approach to your role. The day will support you\, and in turn\, your employees\, in ensuring everyone is moving in the right direction towards achieving the goals\, objectives and ultimately the overall business vision. \nAims of the workshop\nTo look at a more strategic approach to management\nInvolving and sharing the strategic plan with employees\nHelping employees understand where they fit into the plan\nRecognising the differences and similarities between leadership and management\nRecognising different styles of management\nIdentifying the ingredients that bring about high performance\nTo understand the importance of effective communication and the need for performance feedback\nTo explore the need for performance management\nManaging challenging attitudes\nRecognising the importance and benefits of delegating \nPre-course work\nCompleting a brief pre-course questionnaire and arriving with an open mind\, ready to learn. \nMeet the Trainer\nKate Wilde is a business adviser and Managing Director of Engage with Business Ltd\, specialising in leadership and management development for small business owners. She helps founders step into their role as leaders\, building confidence\, strengthening decision making and shaping practical systems that make businesses run more smoothly. Kate’s approach is direct\, supportive and grounded in real world experience\, giving clients the tools they need to lead with clarity and purpose. \nEligability\nThese small group workshops are funded by Norfolk & Suffolk County Council’s and Department of Business and Trade and are open to any business\, freelancer\, or charity based in Norfolk or Suffolk\, UK. \nNew Anglia Growth Hub T&Cs \nDue to funding restrictions\, only one ticket per company is available initially.
