British Sugar is delighted to be hosting a group as part of the West Suffolk Business Festival. Our factory in Bury St Edmunds was first constructed in 1924 and has been proudly producing homegrown sugar ever since. We work with over 700 growers who supply the factory from farms across Suffolk which we then process into a range of different sugar products including the bags of Silver Spoon you’ll see in your local supermarket.
The tour will include explaining the process from the moment the sugar beet arrives to when the sugar leaves the factory on its way to customers. British Sugar produces virtually zero-waste from the sugar making process and is focused on doing more with less with co-products including animal feed, Topsoil and electricity.
This event is completely free to attend, but places are limited and will be given on a first-come-first-served basis. Don’t miss your chance to see behind the scenes at this exclusive tour of an iconic Bury St Edmunds business!
